This item grows twice the crops of the Vegetable Complex (16 instead of 8) in half the time for one energy total. You can also use fertilizers to speed the process up even faster. They are very nice if you can afford the emeralds. It looks as though it takes the same space as the Vegetable Complex, or the equivalent of 6 regular Garden Beds or 1-1/2 times the space of a 4-bed Hothouse or Greenhouse. You can grow all the same crops, or two or three different crops, one after the other. So if you are going to be playing for a while, put some short crops you need lots of in it, then set longer ones when you need to go back to real life, or get some sleep . . ..
They use 2 crops and 1 energy. You can even grow crops you can't buy yet. As long as someone gives you a few, you can grow more.
